#1 GSA Beats #2 Orono In 8 Innings

The top two baseball teams in Class C North Heal Points battled for eight innings at Mahaney Diamond Tuesday afternoon before top ranked George Stevens Academy beat Orono 5-2.Eagles ace Beckett Slayton and Red Riots ace Jackson Coutts pitched well and both left the game with scored tied 2-2.

Slayton struck out eight while Coutts had 11 strikeouts.

In the top of the 8th GSA banged out five consecutive hits and scored three times. Payson Allen came off the bench to drive in the winning run.

Stefan Simmons got the win in relief.

GSA improves to 8-0. Orono falls to 7-3.
