The Orono Red Riots barely got into the Class B North postseason party, beating out Foxcroft by less than one Heal Point. Wednesday nght the Riots proved they belong by knocking off #6 Ellsworth 49-41.

Neither team could extend small leads they had throughout the game. The largest lead was seven points.

In the fourth quarter it was clutch free throw shooting by Orono that made the difference. Junior Jonathan Steelman made eight of nine attempts and finished with 15 points for the Red Riots.

The Eagles struggled on offense all night. Zach Harris had 15 to lead Ellsworth.

The now 7-12 Riots move into the quarterfinal round and will play #3 Presque Isle Friday night at 8pm.
