One man has died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash. Two others received serious injuries when their vehicle left the road Thursday night.

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Nicholas Frenette of Hermon succumbed to injuries that he suffered as a result of the crash on the Annis Road in that town. The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. and shut the road down from both the Route 2 side and the Fuller Road side for many hours.

At last report, officials said it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle, which went off the road and struck some trees. There's no word on the conditions of the other two people who were in the car.
