6 Local Teams Still Alive For SLWS Spot

Bangor and Bronco(Hampden) Senior League All Star baseball teams got through the first weekend of District #3 tournament play with 2-0 records and meet Sunday in a winner's bracket matchup.

The winner of district #3 gains automatic entrance to next month's Senior League World Series at Mansfield Stadium as host team. Nine other teams from around the world will come to Bangor to compete in this 14-16 division of Little League baseball.

The district tournament resumes Saturday August 3rd with Holbrook vs Sebasticook and Old Town vs Houlton in loser bracket games. All four teams will need to win to stay alive in tournament play.

Bangor and Hampden meet Sunday August 4th at 7PM in the winner bracket. The winner of this game goes to the district championship game on Tuesday August 6th.
