Legendary Clemson baseball coach Jack Leggett will be inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame tonight in Dallas,Texas. Leggett is perhaps best known to Maine sports fans as a standout baseball and football player at UMaine back in the 1970's.

Leggett is a native of Vermont and came to UMaine as a two sport star. He captained the 1976 Maine baseball team that played in the College World Series. He also was a 2-time All Yankee Conference football player, a defensive back and kicker. In fact, Leggett holds the school record for a 52-yard field goal.

In his 34 seasons as a head coach, Leggett's teams have won 1,264 games. He has been at Clemson for the past 20 years (887 wins) and 6 College World Series appearances.

Leggett and six other coaches will be inducted into the ABCA Hall of Fame.
