The UMaine baseball run to an America East title came to a heartbreaking end Sunday afternoon - in the bottom of the 10th inning and a bases loaded walk to give UMaryland Baltimore County a 2-1 win.

The Retrievers win their first ever AE baseball title.

The loss ends the Maine playoff run of four straight wins after losing the opening game of the tournament. The Bears finish the season at 25-29.

The game was tied 1-1 most of the day. UM pitcher Justin Courtney went the first five innings, giving up just the one run.

Jeff Gelinas pitched the next 4.2 innings. In the 10th, he walked the UMBC leadoff hitter and then a sacrifice bunt, a ground out, a walk and an intentional walk loaded the bases with two outs.

Zack Bright walked and brought in the game winning and championship winning run.

UMBC gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
