Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing at BIA
Airport officials say an Air Canada flight made an emergency landing in Bangor on Monday afternoon. No one was injured in the incident.
The Portland Press Herald reports an Air Canada jet made an emergency landing at Bangor International Airport this afternoon after the crew reported an odor of smoke in the cabin. The flight was headed to St. John's, Newfoundland from Toronto.
It was just after 2:00 Monday afternoon when Flight 692 landed safely at the airport. As a precaution, the fire crew responded but found only an electrical odor.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. Air Canada will take responsibility for transporting its passengers to their destination. The plane was an Embraer 190, which can carry up to 124 passengers.
