Am East Softball:UMBC 3 Maine 0

After 24 road games the UMaine Black Bears softball team got to play at home Friday afternoon. The Bears lost the opener to conference opponent UMaryland Baltimore County 3-0.

The loss puts the Bears at 5-4 in America East play and 13-12 overall.

UMBC scored two runs in the 4th inning and one in the 6th. The Retrievers win for the first time in AE play(1-5) but overall are 23-15.

The Bears and Retrievers play a noon doubleheader Saturday to wrap up the three game America East Series.
