Amendola Restructures Deal, Stays With NE

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola has restructured his deal to stay with the franchise, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston.

Amendola was due a base salary of five million dollars in 2016 and was rumored to be a potential cut by the Patriots before the announcement today.

"It's an honor to play for this franchise and with this group of guys. We have one goal- to win another Championship and that's all we care about," said Amendola in a released statement on Friday.

The former Texas Tech wide receiver played in 14 games in 2015 for New England and had 65 receptions for 648 yards and three touchdowns.  Amendola has been with the Patriots since 2013.  He remains as part of the wide receiver core with Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Keshawn Martin, Malcolm Mitchell, among others.  The Pats begin the 2016 season on September 11th.
