America East Moves Baseball Tourney to Lowell

America East has announced that this years conference tournament will be played at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.Until the announcement, the tournament was scheduled to be played at the park of the highest seeded team. LeLacheur Park is home to the Lowell Spinners, the single A team of the Boston Red Sox and UMass Lowell who will be joining America East in all sports starting next year.

In a press release America East Commissioner Amy Huchthausen said “Holding our baseball championship at a first-class minor league facility enhances our ability to put on the best possible tournament for our student-athletes, coaches and fans, LeLacheur Park is a beautiful stadium in a perfect location for our fans and institutions, offering all the amenities, plus much more, for our championship.”

The top four teams make the tournament which takes place May 22-25.
