Washburn’s Koch Wins Nat’l Track Title [VIDEO]
Former Washburn High School standout Carsyn Koch is a national women's track champion after setting a new record in the 2016 NCAA Division II Indoor 800 Meter race She competes for Cedarville University Ohio.
Koch finished in 2 minutes, 5.12 seconds, besting second-place finisher Lynelle Decker of Seattle Pacific by more two seconds.
Koch advanced to the final after winning her preliminary heat with a time of 2:09.79.

Last spring, Koch became Cedarville’s first female NCAA All-American when she finished second in the 800 in the Division II national outdoor meet.
During her high school years in Aroostook County, Koch was a five-sport competitor in outdoor sports and basketball. From 2011-2014 she was on four Class D Eastern Maine Champion teams and won the state title in 2013. She also won four individual Class C cross-country state championships and was on the 2012 Class C cross-country state champion team.
