For the first time ever, Australia will be playing at the Senior League World Series in Bangor. The Southern Mainers from Victoria, Australia have won the Asia-Pacific Regional.

Australia has become a baseball hotbed with Little League reporting rapid growth in chartering leagues in that country.

Team Australia dominated play at the A-P Regional played in Guam, finishing 5-0 and outscoring the opposition 82-5.

Australia becomes the second team to win entrance into the SLWS. Puerto Rico has won the Latin America Regional.

Six local Maine teams are competing to be the host team for the upcoming World Series. The International event begins July 31st at Mansfield Stadium.
