Chris is WDEA's "Sports Guy"! He has been broadcasting MDI and Ellsworth Basketball games for the past 8 years and this is the 7th year of broadcasting MDI Football. He is the 2013 Electronic Media Award winner from the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrator's Association in recognition for outstanding electronic media contributions to Maine Interscholastic Athletics. In addition to broadcasting the sporting events for Townsquare Media, Chris sells advertising on the Townsquare Media stations. Bucksport Begins at 12 AM [Video]

The defending Class D Eastern Maine High School Football Champions, the Bucksport Golden Bucks began the 2014 High School Football season, the same way they did last year, with a midnight practice on Monday, August 18th, 2014, insuring that they were the first school to take the field!

Accompanied by a police cruiser, and with approximately 100 fans in attendance, the Bucksport Golden Bucks ran through a tunnel of cheerleaders, and then waited for the clock to strike midnight before they stepped onto the field

Joan Benoit Samuelson – 30 Years Ago Today, August 5, 1984

30 years ago today, August 5, 1984, Freeport Maine's Joan Benoit Samuelson, won the first ever Women's Olympic Marathon in Los Angeles. She was 27 years old, and amazingly enough the US Olympic Trials just 17 days after having had arthroscopic knee surgery!

Benoit Samuelson ran in the Boston Marathon this past year at the age of 57 in a time of 2 hours and 52 minutes!
