The Brewer and Bangor football teams host important games tonight in week 6 of the high school season with an eye on playoff positions and spots.Nick Arther's Witches welcome the #1 and undefeated Brunswick Dragons to Doyle Field in what will be their most difficult challenge this season.

Brewer got back in the win column with a convincing 50-50-12 win over Cony a week ago knowing that a win over the Dragons could vault them into the top spot in class B. They will rely on a ground attack led by senior Dylan Severance who has rushed for 537 yards and 5 touchdowns this season. Fullback Trey Wood and wing back Danny Davis will also play key roles fr the Brewer offense.

Brunswick will counter with one of the top running backs in the state with Will Bessey who is 4 yards shy of 1,000 for the season. The Dragons average 47 points per game this season and allow just 17.

The Bangor Rams will take on the team that ended their season last year as the Cheverus Stags roll into Cameron Stadium. The Rams are coming off their first win of the season and are led by Dane Johnson, the second leading rusher in the conference with 733 yards.

The Stags lost talented running back Joe Fitzpatrick but have found a replacement in freshman Tre Fletcher who has racked up 407 yards and 6 touchdowns.
