Bangor & Brewer Post Legion Tourney Wins

The #1 seeded Bangor Comrades and #3 Brewer Falcons advanced to the winners bracket of the Zone 1 American Legion Tournament Monday.Bangor beat Penquis in the nightcap 2-0 behind an all-around effort from Curtis Worcester. Worcester pitched the complete game shutout allowing just 7 hits and striking out 12. At the plate he added an rbi single to drive in the second run of the game.

The Brewer Falcons overcame a 4-0 deficit in the second inning and scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th inning to beat #2 Hampden 6-5. Chase Allen's bases loaded walk pushed in what proved to be the game winner.

Tuesday's schedule has Hampden playing Penquis in an elimination game at 4pm followed by Bangor vs. Brewer at 7pm.
