Bangor Edges Post 51 In 10th Inning

Despite a late inning scare and an extra inning the Coffee News Comrades of Bangor have advanced to the championship round of the State American Legion Tournament.In a re-match of the Zone 1 title game Bangor came away with a 4-3 win over Post 51 of Oakland in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 10th inning.

The Comrades jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Post 51 came back to tie the game in the top of the 9th. Trevor Delaite came on in relief with 2 outs and runners at 1st and 3rd to get Bangor out of the jam.

In the bottom of the 10th second baseman Johnny Cote singled to right field driving in the winning run to keep the Comrades undefeated at 3-0.

Bangor will now play Morrill Post of South Portland in Saturday's 3pm game. Regardless of the outcome, the Comrades will play in the Championship game on Sunday.
