Competitive cheering teams from Bangor, Hermon, Mattanawcook Academy and Penobscot Valley HS  earned North Regional Championships on Saturday. Now it's on the the states February 10th.

In Class A, Bangor beat out Lewiston for the regional title. Lewiston, Oxford Hills, Brewer, Lawrence and Mt Blue all advance to the state championships as well.

In Class B, Hermon tops the field in the North and will go for a 7th state title in the last eight years. Ellsworth, Old Town, MDI, Gardiner and Erskine Academy also go to the states.

In Class C, Mattanawcook Academy wins the title. Central, Sumner, Houlton Calais and Orono also qualified for the state.

In Class D, Penobscot Valley HS from Howland beat out Central Aroostook for the regional crown. The Panthers have won nine of the last ten Class D state titles. And, the will get the chance to compete, along with Machias, Bangor Christian, DI-Stonington and Woodland.
