Prefontaine Classic-Day1   State champions were crowned in high school track & field on Saturday with Bangor and Orono girls claiming titles along with the Foxcroft Academy boys.In the class A meet Bangor's Grace McLean was a top 4 finisher in four different events to help the Rams take the championship over Bonny Eagle and Brewer who finished third. The witches Teal Jackson won 4 events and set state records in the 200 and 400. Scarborough claimed the boys title.

The class C meet was an Eastern Maine sweep with the Orono girls and Foxcroft Academy boys both winning state titles. Donald Boyer helped the Ponies win their first ever title by setting a class C state record in the 110 hurdles.

Waterville dominated the class B meet by taking the boys and girls championships. Dan Curts of Ellsworth did set a state record in the 1,600 with a time of 4:14:02
