Bangor vs. Brewer On Ice

The cross river rivalry kicks into gear tonight as the Bangor and Brewer hockey teams play the first of their two regular season match-ups at Sawyer Arena.The Rams come in with a 1-1 record after dropping the season opener to Messalonskee, they bounced back to beat Edward Little. Bangor returns an experienced group of players who made it to the Eastern Maine Championship last season.

Brewer has been the most dominant class B program in Eastern Maine over the last several years and are off to a 2-0 start with wins over Hampden and Old Town/Orono. The Witches are coming off a season in which they were upset in the quarterfinals of the class B Tourney and lost a significant amount of their scoring to graduation.

Bangor took both meetings last season with a 6-3 win in the first meeting and a 6-5 overtime victory in their annual Fill the Alfond game.
