The Bangor Rams cheerleading team captured its first ever Class A state championship after chalking up a score of 93.8 and beating defending champ Lewiston by five points.

Lewiston was the three-time defending champ in Class A and had won six of the last seven titles.

Other state championships went to Hermon in Class B, Central of Corinth in Class C and Central Aroostook from Mars Hill in Class D.
