Trevor DeLaite and the Seacoast Mavericks of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League will open up the 2016 playoffs starting tonight in a best of three series with the Nashua Silver Knights.

The Bangor Rams standout has had an up-and-down season with the Mavericks this year, posting a 9.76 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched.  DeLaite had recently been pitching well for the Mavs, posting three scoreless innings with five strikeouts from July 29th until August 5th, until he surrendered five runs to close the season.  The lefty from Bangor is one of the very few players in the league that is playing in the FCBL before playing college baseball.  Delaite is set to join the UMaine Black Bears for the 2017 baseball season.
