Drew Powell Competes For Maine Junior Championship

Bangor's Drew Powell shot a 3-under-par 69 and leads after the first round of the Maine Jr. Amateur golf tournament.

After Powell took a bogey on the third hole, he bounced back to birdie the next two and added another on the par four 7th hole. Powell settled in on the back nine where he played bogey free and picked-up two more birdies.

His 3-under-par is one shot better than defending champ Will Kannegieser who came in at 2-under 70.
