Damien Vance of Bangor High School has won the McDonald’s High School Athlete of the Week with 36 percent of the total vote over Connor Robertson of Orono High School and Daija Misler of Hampden Academy.

The Rams’ sophomore had a big week the team picked up two valuable victories.  Vance scored nine points in the 11-point victory against the Gorham Rams last week and then poured in a game high 27 during the victory against Hampden Academy.  The win over Hampden snapped a 62-game home winning streak and helped Bangor’s chances of making it to the Class AA playoff field.  The Rams currently are 5-10 on the season after another win this week over Oxford Hills.

Vance took home the vote with almost 1,600 submissions this week.
