The Husson men's basketball win streak came to a halt Wednesday night when Bates College came to Bangor and beat the Eagles 79-58. Husson drops to 13-1, Bates moves to 9-6.

The teams played a close first half, it was 33-29 at the break. And, it was close for the first seven minutes of the second half. The final 13 minutes was a different story - Bates outscored the Eagles 39-19. For the night the Bobcats shot 63% from the field, Husson just 37%.

Former Hampden Academy standout, Graham Safford led Bates with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Brooks Spaulding scored 14 for Husson.

 

On the women's side, Husson lost at Colby 54-45. The Eagles drop to 6-7, Colby improves to 6-11.

Desi Smith led the Mules with 15, Katie Brochu with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
