The Edward Little HS girls sent Bangor to its first loss of the season Friday night. A 57-47 win at Red Barry Gym in a game that had lots of momentum swings.

6-1 sophomore Emily Jacques was a major force for EL, scoring 16 points and senior guard Kory Norcross added 16.

The Red Eddies pressure defense forced Bangor into 19 turnovers. The Rams also got into foul trouble. EL led by 9 at the half, increased that lead by as many as 13 before Bangor mounted a comeback to get within 3. The Eddies hit free throws down the stretch to win by 10.

Sarah Bragg scored 15, Emily Gilmore 12 and Katie Butler 10 for the Rams.

Bangor is 2-1. EL is 3-0.

UPDATE: The Bangor boys scored a 68-48 win on the road at Edward Little and improve their record to 2-1.
