Less than four minutes into their season opener against Boston College, the UMaine Black Bears kicked a field goal to grab a lead. Who knew it would be the only points put up on the board all day.

BC beat the Bears 24-3, scoring 10 points in the second quarter and 14 in the fourth quarter.

Maine managed just 91 yards of total offense. The Eagles racked up 359.

QB Dan Collins was 12-for-29, just 84 yards and one interception. The Black Bear ground game managed just 7 total yards.

Maine gets a week off before heading down to New Orleans for another FBS game against Tulane.
