The UMaine Black Bear baseball team came up short in its bid to win the America East Conference title from the losers bracket. Binghamton won the title game 4-0.

Bearcats pitcher Jake Lambert pitched eight shutout innings to pick up the win. He pitched a total of 17 innings in the tournament and got two wins.

Maine did load the bases with one out in the ninth but could not score.

Binghamton wins the AE championship and will move on to a NCAA regional with an  overall record of 30-23.

Maine finishes the season at 37-22.

Meanwhile, at the Division III College World Series, the University of Southern Maine is still alive. The Huskies defeated Webster College(Missouri) 7-2. USM is now 2-1 at the CWS being played in Appleton, Wisconsin. The Huskies next play Monday afternoon at 1PM.
