Bears Beat Hawks, Win Streak Reaches Seven
The UMaine women's basketball win streak is now seven straight games thanks to a 59-56 win over Hartford last night at the Cross Center.
The Black Bears committed a season-high 28 turnovers and that made the night a lot more difficult. Maine trailed 28-25 at halftime.
But then the Bears outscored the Hawks 20-6 in the third quarter.
Reigning America East Player of the Week Blanca Millan led UMaine with 19 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Julie Brosseau also scored 19.
Maine is tied for first place in AE with a 9-2 record (16-8 overall). UAlbany is also 9-2 after a Monday night win over UMass Lowell 90-63.
Hartford drops to 6-5 and 14-10.
