The UMaine hockey team was down 3-1 after two periods at Merrimack Friday night but scored a goal in the first minute and last minute of the third period to earn a 3-3 tie in Hockey East action.

Eduards Tralmaks scored the goal in the first minute.

And then with goalie Jeremy Swayman pulled for an extra attacker, Brady Keep scored the game tying goal with :56 seconds to play.

Neither team could score in overtime.

Swayman made 28 saves. Warriors goallie Craig Pantano stopped 32.

The Black Bears are now 7-8-4 in Hockey East (11-14-4 overall). Merrimack is 4-14-1 and 7-20-2.

Only five games remain on the UMaine regular season schedule, including tonight's second game of the weekend series at Merrimack.
