Coach Jack Cosgrove leads his 2-0 Maine Black Bears into Alfond Stadium Saturday for the home opener against 2-0 Bryant University from Rhode Island. In their first ever meeting last year, Maine pounded the Bulldogs 51-7.

In that game played in Smithfield, Rhode Island, the Black Bears racked up 581 yards of total offense. Ricky Stevens was Maine's leading rusher that day with 168 yards.

The stats show the Bears and Bulldogs are close. Maine outscores the opponent 23-10, Bryant 25-11. Maine averages 445 ypg of offense, Bryant 399. Maine gives up 244 ypg, Bryant 238.
