Bears Taste Big 10: Lose To Wildcats 35-21
The Maine football team went to Big 10 country and outgained Northwestern 379-373 but came up short on the scoreboard 35-21. The Black Bears(3-1) take their first loss of the season and now it is on to CAA conference play.
QB Marcus Wasilewski went 25 for 40 with 237 yards and two touchdowns. Maine's defense held the top-20 FBS Wildcats to a season low in points and passing yards.
Northwestern running back Mike Trumpy led the Wildcat ground attack with 101 and a TD on 17 carries. The Wildcats gained 289 yards on the ground.
Northwestern is 4-0 and gets Ohio State in its next game.
Maine's first CAA conference game is next - at Richmond.
