The UMaine Black Bears stay in the hunt for a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title with a 28-9 win over UAlbany on Homecoming Weekend in Orono.

The win puts the Black Bears at 4-1 in CAA play (5-3 overall).

Maine scored the first 21 point in this one. A Chris Ferguson to Earnest Edwards 77-yard TD strike. A one yard run by Ferguson. And, a 6-yard TD run by Ramon Jefferson got the Bears a 21-0 lead at the half.

The Great Danes scored a touchdown and a field goal in the second half to make things interesting but a trick play by Maine - a Drew Belcher option pass to Julian Dunn put the game away midway through the fourth quarter.

Ferguson was 21-of-30, 244 yards, a TD and an interception.

Edwards caught six of those passes for 114 yards.

Jefferson ran 18 times for 93 yards.

The Bears travel to Towson for a biggie next Saturday.
