At his season ending press conference at Foxboro today, Patriots coach Bill Belichick had sharp words for former Pats wide receiver Wes Welker and his hit on Aqib Talib during yesterday's AFC championship game.

Belichick said he finally got a chance to see the pick play over the middle when Welker banged into Talib. It happened during the second quarter and Talib left the game and did not return.

Says Belichick, "I feel badly for Aqib, the way the play turned out. It was a deliberate play to take out Aqib. No attempt to get open. I'll let the league handle the discipline on that. It's not for me to decide, but it's one of the worst plays I've seen. And that's all I'm going to say about that."

Welker said after the game there was no intent to run into Talib.
