Another four hour game. Another walk-off win for the Boston Red Sox vs the Phils. This time a 4-3 12th inning walk-off hit from Andrew Benintendi to make him the hero of the night.

A third straight night of four hour baseball at Fenway was filled with inability to knock in runs. Until Benintendi's hit, the Sox were 2-for-12 with RISP. But after a leadoff walk to Xander Bogaerts, a wall-ball single for Mitch Moreland, runners at the corners, the rookie ripped his first game winning hit. He had three hits and two RBI.

Fernado Abad, who pitched two shutout innings, got the win.

David Price lasted six innings, giving up three runs. The bullpen pitched six scoreless innings.

The win puts Boston at 36-28 and with a west coast Yankees loss, the Sox are within three games of first place in the AL East.
