The Boston Bruins cruised to wins in the first two games of the conference finals but in game 3 needed a Patrice Bergeron double overtime goal to beat the Penguins 2-1.The Bruins opened the scoring 1:42 into the game on a David Krejci goal, his 9th of the playoffs. Chris Kunitz would score the equalizer in the second which would be the final goal until the game winner 15:19 into the second overtime. Jaromir Jagr took the puck from the Pens and found Brad Marchand on the left wing who got a pass away to Bergeron for the winning goal.

Tuukka Rask made many key stops during the game and finished with 53 saves.
