For the fourth time in his career, Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron is the Selke Trophy Award winner for best defensive forward in the league. He joins Hall of Famer Bob Gainey as the only four time winner of the award.

Bergeron is so respected in the NHL. He has been a finalist for the award six times.

This past season Bergeron led the NHL in faceoff wins (1,089) and third in win percentage at 61.1%.

Along with his defense, Bergeron was third in the league with 302 shots. He scored 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points in 79 games.

Bergeron has now won the Selke in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

NOTE: The new NHL franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, selected defenseman Colin Miller off the Boston Bruins roster. Miller played in 61 games for the B's last season, six goals and getting seven assists.
