Former Penquis HS and Hampden Academy standout Isaiah Bess is part of the Division-II Stonehill College basketball team that will play in a NCAA regional championship game Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

Over the weekend, Stonehill(23-8) defeated Bentley and then knocked off Southern New Hampshire College in overtime to earn the spot in the regional final.

Bess, a sophomore, scored six points and grabbed six rebounds in 33 minutes vs SNHU. He had 10 points and five rebounds vs Bentley.

The #4 seeded Skyhawks meet #2 seed St. Anselm's College Tuesday night for the right to go to the Division-II final four championship.

NOTE: Former Nokomis HS standout Chris Braley plays for St. Anselm's. The junior is averaging 12 points and eight rebounds a game.
