Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts begins his quest for the PBA World Series of Bowling championship today in Reno,  Nevada.

Betts was one of Tennesseee's top high school bowlers and starting today is one of 246 competitors from 20 different countries in this championship event.

Betts will bowl 9 qualifying games every day through Friday. If he finishes in the top 25% in scoring he will advance to the so-called 'cashers' round' on Saturday.

Eventually the top bowlers advance to the PBA World Championship that runs through December 19th.
