Big Night For Big Papi

The Red Sox combined solid starting pitching and a 12-hit attack led by David Ortiz to take down the Mariners 11-4.Big Papi doubled, homered and drove in 3 runs to lead the Sox offense. In doing so he passed Harold Baines for most hits by a DH in Major League history. Shane Victorino  contributed to the cause by collecting 2 hits and 2 rbi.

Felix Doubront had another solid outing by allowing just 1 run on 5 hits over 7 innings. He struck out 6 and only walked 2. Doubront has given up 3 or more earned runs just twice in his last 11 starts.

Ryan Dempster will get the start in Thursdays series finale.
