Maine's lone Olympian, biathlon competitor Russell Currier from Stockholm, finished in 61st place in the 10km event today in Sochi, Russia. Norway's Ole Einar Bjoernadalen won the gold medal.

There were 87 competitors in this first biathlon event. Four were Americans and finished in 19th, 35th and 45th...and then Currier in 61st place.

The next men's biathlon event is Monday morning in Sochi. It is the 12.5km Pursuit event.
