The UMaine hockey team road woes continue. A 3-2 loss Friday night at UMass Lowell means that streak reaches 23 straight games.

A River Hawks powerplay goal about halfway through the 3rd period by Chris Fourney truned out to be the game winner.

Maine freshman Emil Westerlund had both goals for the Black Bears.

Goalie Rob McGovern made 24 saves for the Bears.  UML goalie Chris Hernberg made 27.

UMaine is now 1-2 in Hockey East (2-5 overall). UMass Lowell is 1-4 and 4-5.

Game two of the series is tonight.
