Two former UMaine football players were among the many cut by NFL teams as each squad got down to the 53 man maximum.Kendall James was a 6th round pick of the Minnesota Vikings thanks to his impressive speed in the pre-draft combine.  On Saturday he became one of the final players the Vikes released in order to get to the maximun 53 man roster. James seems to remain upbeat, posting the following on his twitter account.

Justin Perillo was released by the Green Bay Packers. He was signed as an undrafted free agent. Other former UMaine players were able to make rosters including Mike Devito with the Chiefs, Matt Mulligan with the Bears, and Montell Owens with the Lions.

The New England Patriots let go 19 players including wide receiver Josh Boyce. The following are the other cuts made by the Pats.
