Trailing 7-1 after six innings on the road in Albany, the UMaine Black Bear baseball team put together a bigtime comeback win. The Bears get an 8-7 victory and complete a three game series sweep. The winning streak is now five straight games.

Put Maine's record in America East Conference play at 11-10 now. There is one four-game series left vs Hartford next weekend. Keep in mind, the conference tournament will be at Mahaney Diamond in Orono and the weekend sweep puts the Bears in good position to be in it.

In Saturday's comeback, the Bears scored three times in the 7th inning and then scored two unearned runs in the 8th. Then in the 9th inning, a Hernen Sardinas RBI double scored the game tying run. Sardinas would score the game winning run on a wild pitch.

Freshman Peter Kemble worked two innings of shutout relief to get the win on the hill for the Bears. Zach Winn pitched the 9th to get the save.

The (17-29) Bears will play out-of-conference Wednesday at Boston College and then wrap up the regular season Friday and Saturday with an important four game AE series at Mahaney Diamond vs the Hartford Hawks.
