The UMaine women's basketball team outscored Stony Brook 11-4 in overtime to get a 78-71 win in America East play. While that game was being played, down in New York the UMaine men's was losing a cliffhanger to the Seawolves 67-66.

At Cross Center:  Make it 21 straight AE wins for the Black Bears. Sigi Koizar 21 points and hauled down 11 rebounds in the overtime victory. Maine improves to 8-5 in conference play and 15-13 overall with three games left on the schedule.

At New York:  After 14 lead changes and nine ties, the Seawolves beat the Black Bears by a point. A late game free throw was the difference in the end. Wes Myers led Maine with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Fleming had 17 points. The Bears are 2-11 AE and 6-22.
