UMaine basketball teams earned a split with Vermont in Monday America East play. The women's team winning at the Cross Center. The men's team losing in Burlington.

UMaine Women 64   Vermont 55:  The Black Bears turned the ball over just four times all day. You have to go back 19 years to see the Bears with that few of turnovers.

Combine that with a double-double from Blanca Millan, 23 points and 10 rebounds and you've got the recipe for an AE victory.

The Black Bears are 3-2 in conference and 10-8 overall.

The Catamounts are now 2-2 and 5-12.

Vermont Men 83   UMaine 62:  Another late game run by the opposition did in the Black Bears. The Catamounts led by 10 points and then ripped off a 14-2 run in the final three minutes. Four UVM players in double digit scoring.

Vermont has now won 25 straight America East games.

Maine was led by Aaron Calixte with 19 and Ilker Er had 18.

The Black Bears fall to 1-4 in AE, 4-16 overall.

Vermont is 4-0 and14-5.
