Mitch Fossier and Nolan Vesey scored second period goals as the UMaine Black Bears beat New Hampshire 3-2 to sweep the Hockey East best-of-three playoff series 2-0.

It's on to Providence in the next round of the HE playoffs for the Bears.

Eduards Tralmaks added a late third period goal and it turned out it was needed when UNH scored a goal in the final minute.

Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves in net for Maine.

The Black Bears are 18-14-4 and begin their series at #3 seed Providence Friday night.
