um-hockey2Using the momentum of a weekend sweep over Boston College, the UMaine hockey team will try to win their third straight game as they host Providence College.The Bears have won three in a row only once this season and will also be looking for their first win of the season at Alfond Arena. They enter the game with the reigning Hockey East goalie of the month in Martin Ouellette who comes in with a save percentage of .924.

The game will also mark the return of South Portland native Jon Gillies who starts in goal for the Friars as a freshman. Gillies has a record of 10-8-3. Gillies was also the back-up goalie earlier this year for team USA that won the World Junior Championships.
