Black Bears, UConn Tie 1-1

UMaine hockey manage only one point out of a possible four point weekend vs UConn after finishing the two game series with a 1-1 tie Saturday night.

Captain Steven Swavely scored the only Black Bear goal - a second period shorthanded goal.

UConn got its only goal from Max Letunov early in the third period. It was a powerplay score.

Neither team could score in the overtime.

Maine goalie Matt Morris made 33 saves.

The Black Bears are 5-13-5 overall (2-6-2 HE). The Huskies are 8-13-2 overall (4-7-2 HE).

Maine turns around a hosts Quinnipiac on Tuesday at Alfond. The Bobcats are ranked #2 in the nation.
