The UMaine Black Bears beat Hartford at the Cross Center last night 78-58 for their 7th straight win and in the process take over sole possession of first place in America East. 78-58

The Black Bears won all four quarters, getting a balanced scoring attack.

Tanesha Sutton led with 24 points and is six points away for the 1,000 point career mark.

Dor Saar added 19, Parise Rossignol with 18 and Blanca Millan with 15.

Maine had a great shooting night, hitting on 551% of their shots.

The Bears are 11-1 in AE, 18-7 overall.

Hartford drops to 9-2 and 16-9.

Hartford Men 81  UMaine Men 73:  At Hartford, the Hawks beat the Maine men's team in a back and forth game.

The Bears shot well (52%) but the Hawks shot better (58%).

Andrew Fleming had a double-double for Maine with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dennis Ashley also scored 16.

Travis Weatherington had 22 for Hartford.

Maine drops to 3-8 and 5-21. The Hawks are 6-4 adn 13-12.
