The Maine Warden Service says the body of a fisherman reported missing yesterday has been recovered.

Maine Warden Service Corporal John MacDonald says Mark Peters, age 58 of Bridgton, went fishing around 10 o'clock Monday morning in Peabody Pond. When he hadn't returned by dusk., his wife contacted authorities and reported him missing.

A Cumberland County Sheriff joined the Warden Service in the search for Peters, first locating his vehicle in the Peabody Pond boat launch. His body was discovered about 12 feet from shore at 11 o'clock last night. MacDonald says a life vest was found floating nearby but Peters was not wearing one.

The case remains under investigation by the Warden Service.
